…………………………….

Summer Gengenbach

Born in Oklahoma, Summer Gengenbach has lived in the Lincoln area for eight years. She took a very early interest in horses. And was active in 4-H and FFA horse activities. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor Degree in Animal Science. She is an avid barrel racer and continual student of the horse. She recently began New Sun Equine and enjoys training horses for many disciplines including barrel racing and being a rodeo and barrel race competitor.

Annie Hasselbalch

Annie is a lifelong barrel racer who was born and raised in Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelors of Science in Agribusiness. She began barrel racing at the age of 4 with a $40 pony named Betty and hasn’t looked back since. Coming from several generations of skilled horsemen (and women), it wasn’t long before she bought her Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) permit in 2006. In just one short year, she surpassed the permit limit and graduated to professional cardholder status. Annie enjoys all level of competition, but has most recently started competing in futurity, derby and division barrel race competitions, while still rodeoing as her schedule allows. Raising and training her own horses, traveling with good friends and enjoying a cold beer at The Single Barrel make all of the hard work worthwhile.
